The Sacred Lie of Mediocrity

I’m scared to do the jump
and scared to go to rest
I’m scared to not catch up
and scared to be the best
I’m scared of standing out
and scared of not being seen
I don’t know who told me the lie
the only way to get some love
is staying in between

Overflow

Today
I will feed me
with any sweet thought
that I can find about me
and add all the cherries on top
that come to my mind

until I will overflow
like a big pot of honey
enough to sweeten
the afternoon of a whole village

I will go out
and walk through the streets
giving smiles covered in love
and words marinated in kindness

in all it’s simplicity
I cannot think of a better way
to serve the world
that is so hungry for love

Back to Love

As the world goes crazy
I hold hand with a friend
and I press it a little tighter
than I would usually do

I remind her
that if the world collapses
we will be there for each other

As we hold tight
we remember
that holding a hand that cares
is worth more than
a lot of things we chased

we did not really take the time
to do this
in years

the dark
also turns on the light
on what truly matters

I want him to know my weapons
that I use to overprotect myself
I want him to know how to disarm me
when I use them
I want him to be safe and unharmed

and so I invite him to the table

I show him my strategies I will use in the war
I show him my weapons
I show him when to be cautious
and when to be ready for unexpected attacks

I leave this table
knowing
this was a decision irreversible
when my fears will take the lead
every move he will see through

I am at the most vulnerable
and closer to love
I have ever been
